The Idea: After realizing how real the threat of piracy is and it leaving me with a sense of “ickiness,” I decided to launch Karma Copies, three copies of Burden of the Soul that are meant to be read for free and passed on for the love of reading. Each recipient will sign the book in the back and let us know where the book’s been so we can keep track of the books journeys and see how far the love for reading can travel.
The Start: (I’ll post the names and locations of our first three Karma Readers once they’ve been decided. Want to be one of them? Comment here, on the Facebook page, tweet me or email me (Kate) stating your case why you should be one of the first Karma Copy readers.)
The Rules: There’s only 3 so it stays pretty simple!
1. Read it! If someone passes it on to you, read it. If you’re not going to read it or if it’s going to sit on your shelf for a year cause you will probably forget about it… don’t accept it.
2. Mark it! Sign the book in the back with your name and location (city/state/whatever) so we can keep track of how far the copy travels. Shoot me an email or comment on this page also to let us know how far the chain is growing and we can mark it on the map as the book continues on.
3. Pass it! Keep the copy moving. Once you’re finished reading pass it on as soon as you can to someone you think would like to read it. If you can’t find anyone… not a single soul who would read it AND continue the chain going, then contact me and I’ll find a reader from this bunch.
And that’s it! Let’s see how long we can get these chains going and see how much Good Karma we can spread!

I would love to read the book. You should choose me because I’m from Michigan too. And if I like it I’ll tweet the mess out of it:-)
As long as you promise to follow the Karma Copy rules: sign it in the back and pass it on!
