Burden of the Soul is a young adult novel that explores the abstract, and sometimes dark, strands of spirituality woven through our histories in a modernized and approachable way. It combines the different aspects of a textured life – love, loss, humor, fear, risk – to map a story where one young woman finds that the greatest power and strength imaginable is found within herself.
A transcendental battle is being fought and putting the natural balance of life at stake. The world and everything within it is in jeopardy of succumbing to darkness.
To bring an end to this war, the oldest soul has returned to this life as Clara, a 17-year-old girl who has absolutely no idea of her own power and role in this life-altering fight. Let alone that she’s our only hope.

This is an amazing video! Totally makes me want to read it again. I’m ordered some copies and totally going to show this to my 8th grade students. They’ll want to read it….I’m sure of it!

okay, just wondering when book 2 will be out?
I actually just posted a comment earlier about this book… Although I may be one of “those” who likes a clean ending (doesn’t mean tied up in a bow) or at least an ending that satisfies and answers some questions that come up when reading a book, I knew there was more to the characters in “Burden..” I am glad to hear that your original plan was to make this a series….the worst part is waiting for the next book but that adds to the excitement! Thanks for the great read…..

Love the book. Got it on a whim from amazon. Amazing for such a young author. HURRY and get the next one out. I NEED to know what happens next. My 14 year old daughter fell in love with it also.
