a bit of grace

The random musings of Kate Grace

Books

Burden of the Soul is a young adult novel that explores the abstract, and sometimes dark, strands of spirituality woven through our histories in a modernized and approachable way. It combines the different aspects of a textured life ā€“ love, loss, humor, fear, risk ā€“ to map a story where one young woman finds that the greatest power and strength imaginable is found within herself.

This is an amazing video! Totally makes me want to read it again. I’m ordered some copies and totally going to show this to my 8th grade students. They’ll want to read it….I’m sure of it!

I actually just posted a comment earlier about this book… Although I may be one of “those” who likes a clean ending (doesn’t mean tied up in a bow) or at least an ending that satisfies and answers some questions that come up when reading a book, I knew there was more to the characters in “Burden..” I am glad to hear that your original plan was to make this a series….the worst part is waiting for the next book but that adds to the excitement! Thanks for the great read…..

Thank you so much for reaching out, Sherri! I’m so glad you and your daughter enjoyed it. Book 2 and 3 are both in the works right now (hoping to not make everyone wait as long between books after this), and there will be some bonus chapters released through the Summer to help everyone with the wait. Thanks again!
